Symposium on Multimedia Across the Curriculum

In March 2006, the Institute for Multimedia Literacy hosted a two-day symposium designed to bring together leading scholars to discuss topics related to the design and implementation of programs that incorporate multimedia materials, concepts and pedagogy at post-secondary educational institutions. The broad purpose of the symposium was to stimulate discussion among participants about their experience and interest in developing multimedia educational programs and pedagogies. A more specific objective was to constitute a community of scholars, both at USC and elsewhere, who could contribute important insights to the development of a new multimedia general education program at USC. The symposium also provided an opportunity to conduct a preliminary assessment of the interest in, and need for, multimedia programs at other institutions across the country.

Participants included Nancy Kaplan, Jerome McGann, Gail E. Hawisher, Bob Stein, Stuart Moulthrop, Johanna Drucker, Mary Hocks and Anne Wysocki.
