The Digital Scholar: New Tools for Writing and Research

The IML will present a workshop for incoming graduate students during USC Orientation this summer. The seminar will introduce a series of digital media tools and resources for students to use as they begin their graduate studies.

Workshop Description
This workshop will introduce graduate students to an array of tools to find, organize and share information with others quickly and easily. It will cover collaborative writing tools, including Google Docs, blogs and wikis, as well as methods for using social bookmarking applications to tag and organize Web sites for research purposes. The workshop will also consider the best way to represent yourself and your work online as a graduate student in order to form connections and community.
