| HOME The city of Los Angeles hosts a remarkable variety of independent and artist-run institutions, which together constitute a radical alternative to more traditional museums and galleries. For our fourth and final TransFormations event, we will introduce members of the USC community to an amazing array of the city's most provocative and innovative spaces. And, since there really is no way to experience these spots other than to actually visit them, we've opted not to bring representatives of these venues to USC, but to bring USC to them. For one day only, we have chartered a luxury tour bus, which will take attendees on a day-long expedition to five of our favorite institutions: Fringe Exhibitions, Telic Arts Exchange, Machine Project, The Center for Land Use Interpretation and The Museum of Jurassic Technology. Spread throughout the city, each venue is an iconoclastic gem, each embodying a specific, original and surprising worldview. The USC travelers will become immersed in a new and unexpected reality at each stop. The bus will be equipped with a sound system, providing a mix of live and recorded music as the bus travels through the city. For each stop along the route, attendees will disembark for about an hour, during which time they will have a chance to view the current exhibitions and hear a brief overview of the institution's history and philosophy. Refreshments and lunch will be served. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit some of the most exciting and innovative sites in Los Angeles! Free for USC students, staff and faculty. You must RSVP to attend. USC students click here USC faculty and staff click here This event is open to USC students, staff, and faculty. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
